Premiere-Resolve XML Time & speed issues

PostMon Jul 09, 2018 4:08 pm

Hi everyone,

I edit on Adobe Premiere Pro, and color grade on Davinci Resolve since quite a long time. (I mean : I'm not a beginner on Resolve, and use it professionnaly, for the company I work with :) ) My problem is new, and I didn't find a topic about it.

Here is the problem :
The editor made a timeline with 4 different kind of videos :
- Sony A7RIII 1920x1080 XAVC 100fps
- Sony A7RIII 3840x2160 XAVC 25fps
- Panasonic GH5 1920x1080 50fps (transcoded in .mov to import in DVR)
- DJI 50 fps

Some shots in 50fps have been slowed down 50%, other 100fps shots have been slowed down at 25%, and some other are at 100% speed (50, 100 or 25fps)
When I import the XML, it doesn't work perfectly -> the editing is ok, every shot and cuts are here at the correct place, the sequence has the same lenght... But when I put the exported video (to check if there's any problem) over this xml imported timeline and put 50% of the opacity : every shot - even though is correctly placed - doesn't start and stops at the same image. And the problem is random and not the same for every clip.
Some shots have 3images less, some others 13images, some others 4images more... etc. When I right click on "change clip speed", it is not exactly the 25% speed or 50% speed, but has been changed to 24,56%, or 24,75%... etc... (never twice the same) And when the clip is 100% speed, the simple fact of clicking on "change clip speed" but without changing anything, when I quit this window, I can see that the clip changed (1 or 2 images shifted of). And if I do click on "change clip speed" several times (even though I don't change the speed), the clip shift of randomly anyway...

The only solution is to replace every shot with the trim mode, with the overexposition of the exported timeline.. but it's reeeeeally long, and sometimes, it doesn't work.

I tried to export the timeline by AAF, and EDL.. but it worked less (not to say "doesn't worked at all")

Does anyone know where my problem comes from ?

Thanks for your help !!! :)

Hello,

I have the same problem, The % speed is not exact and I can't get a perfect sync.

For example : 450,12% instead of 450,00%

When I change the value to 450,00%, still no sync.
