AAF/MXF Export Issues

Hi all -

Is anyone able to help with this issue, please...?

We are trying to use the Deliver to Pro Tools capability for audio work, and coming up against the following issues. When opening the AAF with referenced MXFs in either Nuendo or Pro Tools...

+ Audio clips are offset by about a frame from the audio embedded in the reference video
+ Some audio clips are a frame out when a manual check is done between the Fairlight timeline and the Nuendo/Pro Tools timeline
+ Clip gain does not come across
+ Fades/crossfades do not come across

Does anyone have any ideas, please?

Many thanks!

Hello,

Have you been able to work out the export to Pro Tools?

Unfortunately I've also been having a lot of problem with the AAF/MXF export from Resolve. It worked for me when there was just one audio track and one video track, but as soon as things get more complex I get the issues you report, among other problems.

This is really something that ought to be fixed for Resolve to be a realistic alternative as a video editing software. Even if Resolve 15 has better built in audio tools, you still want to be able to export to Pro Tools.

Just downloaded the 15 release (not the public beta) and yes it is not ready to use AAF export in a meaningful way, in my view. No fades passed across even. The export to Pro Tools is more like a "bounce clips" capability. You could do this with broadcast wav metadata and no AAF and just spot the files to the timeline with embedded timecode.

I'd love to collaborate better with the team using Resolve for picture editing/grade, but it is way too limiting from an audio collaboration pov.
