= / - Zoom Keys Intermittently working

Since upgrading to 15, my default zoom keys which are = / - (Similar to Premiere, so I don't have to hold shift to zoom) are not zooming the timeline. They are inputting into the playhead position frame field in the timeline viewer.

Keyboard mapping shows no conflicts. Is there anyway to change this behavior? I hate needing a modifier to zoom.

You can zoom without a modifier if you map the zoom function to a different pair of keys. =/- are apparently reserved for time-code entry, despite the absence of a conflict warning.

The only other workaround -- at least, in Windows -- is using a third party keyboard utility.

This is a design flaw in DaVinci Resolve. If the timeline is selected, the + and - keys (technically the = and - keys) are hard coded for timecode entry. Your shortcuts will only work if the timeline is not selected.

Premiere Pro does this better. The Numpad + and - are used for navigation while the main keys are for zooming. But you can still navigate with the main keys by clicking on the timecode first.

Resolve should follow Adobe's example. Unmodified + and - keys for Zoom are the most sensible.

yes seeing same problem here. -/= should have TL only focus rather than all open panels.
