Add two clips to the timeline with enough overlap on each end of the respective clips to support a transition (1s).
Drop on a cross dissolve between the clips.
This is all good - dissolve works fine.
Now adjust/move the second clip.
The transition jumps off the edit point, and aligns itself with the end of the first clip. Still ok so far.
Now push the second clip back up to the end of the first clip (again, ensuring you have enough media on both ends of the two clips for the transition to work).
Try and move the transition back across the edit point - you can't - you can only place it at the end of the first clip or entirely on the second clip - not across the clips where you would want it.
