BCC or Mocha Pro OFX in DR15 beta6 anyone?

I'm trying Boris Continuum Complete and Mocha Pro in DR beta6. Anyone else got them and is ready to try?

The Mocha Pro OFX plug-in works in it's older version 5.5.2. but crashes completely with the up-to-date 5.6.0. (crash report already sent). Anybody else seeing this?

BCC Title Studio works OK until I try to import any simple Cinema4D object, which it's supposed to handle. It triggers a full crash too. Given the current problems with getting 3D objects into integrated Fusion, it would be so nice to have it.

Finally, Primatte Studio in BCC doesn't crash, but doesn't show me the lower clip either when applied to the layer above in the timeline, the keyed area just stays black. Yes, I know it's in Fusion standalone too, but AFAIK it won't make it into the integrated Fusion.

I have mocha pro 5.6 and it doesn't crash for me in a preliminary test with AVCHD clips, 1080p under Windows 10.

I haven't tested BCC 11 yet.

BTW - This was mocha on the edit timeline. I didn't try it from within a node on the color page. Does that matter to you?

Thanks. The newer version crashes both in the timeline and on a node, the older one works in both cases.

Anyone using Mocha Pro OFX 5.6 and BCC 11 in DR15 release version?

When I open a project created under 14 that is using both of these, Resolve's viewers get stuck on any node where either of them is active. I can switch nodes, clips, pages or projects, but the viewers are stuck and the only way out is to quit Resolve (can quit normally) AND restart the computer.

Resolve Studio 15.0.0.86
Desktop Video 10.9.7
Decklink Mini Monitor

Win 10 Pro 1709 build 16299.547
ASUS X99 Deluxe II
Xeon E5-2696 v4 2.2 GHz
64GB RAM
2 x 1080Ti
Nvidia driver version 398.11

It works reasonably well for me with Mocha Pro 5.6, but most functions in BCC 11 are slower than their counterparts in Resolve, they use only one GPU and often not to the limit.

There is not hat much in BCC any more without a replacement in Resolve plus Fusion itself. But I still hope that they fix Mocha Pro OFX, IMHO that's still the best.

Thanks Uli. Are you saying that the Mocha Pro 5.6 OFX plugin is working for you in 15.0.0.086, or just BCC 11? I agree that most of the things I used BCC for are now native OFX.

I started a new project in 15 and did a simple track and insert composite in the Mocha Pro OFX window. I saved it and closed it, and as soon as I hit render in the Resolve OFX pane, Resolve shut down completely. I had to restart the computer to get Resolve to restart.

Sorry, if I was not clear, it’s 5.2.2 working here as stated above. 5.6 still crashes Resolve as soon as I drag it to a clip or a node.

Thanks for clarifying.

I've found BCC by itself still works and I can still use the Mocha modules in BCC if I need to, and can also use Mocha Pro in Fusion Studio in a VFX connect clip. So it's not a showstopper. Still, I hope the upcoming new version of Mocha will work as an OFX in Resolve.

Hi there,

Interesting feedbacks, thank you.
I also think Mocha's still the best and as I had problems with its ofx version of it in Resolve (when it was not supported, it showed up anyway), whenever I wanted to use it included in the WF, I chose the FusionConnect way too, though it's of course slower in Fusion...
I will check the version(s), but I guess I have v4 ans v 5 of Mocha.

Now, since I couldn't use it in esolve, I got used to the standalone version of Mocha, hence this, question : does anyone here use it, and export data into Resolve (or copy and paste track data) ?

Sam, I have only used the Mocha Pro OFX, can't help with that.

Uli, did you roll back 5.6 to 5.5.2, and if so, did you uninstall 5.6 first?

Hello,

I will be tested tomorrow on Windows and BCC OFX 11.3. :)

Ok, thx Mark, though I still think using the standalone + copy/paste track data may be still relevant (for example for perf).
My copy of standalone is 5.1.1 and my copy of ofx is 5.2.1

I got an explanation from Boris FX and they say they can't help it. It's because DR doesn't give them access to all the frames of a clip, only to a limited range (as needed for temporal NR, for example). After more work, even 5.5.2 didn't work 100% reliably, so that's probably the end of my experimenting.

But masking by Mocha in BCC works.

So, it's Fusion Connect for me. And, yes, Mocha Pro can export Fusion data.

I you answered to me, I know Mocha Pro can export its data or Fusion's one, I was looking for any experience about pasting Mocha standalone's data straight in Resolve, or now in Resolve's Fusion...

I found Fusion not yet reliable enough for some of my work, so I'm still doing most in standalone.
So, I didn't try Mocha Pro data yet in the Fusion page.

Hey guys, sorry to bump this thread again, but I finally happen to have an issue with Moch Pro ofx in Resolve and in Fusion standalone by the Fusion Connect way now...

Though I told you about my preference for the standalone version, this topic however led me to try the ofx version of Mocha again, but a tiny but solid detail stuck me : everything went fine in the Mocha GUI opened by clicking "launch mocha gui" in the ofx panel (Resolve Color node, also Fusion node).

Did my stuff (a basic Remove action = a bgd tracked and a fgd object too, then this latter removed), everything ok : object removed in Mocha GUI > file : save > close the GUI...
Back in Resolve or Fusion, Mocha panel > render ticked : mocha remove chosen >... and nothing. The remove can't be seen in Resolve nor Fusion, what did I miss guys ? :)

Hey Sam,

For now with BCC 11.03 and BCC OFX REMOVER + MOCHA in Color Tab :
Only works 'correctly' if:
(MOCHA preference)
-Use Vertical Sync = OFF
- Amount of texture RAM to Reserve = 2048 (to adapt / 32GB RAM hre / your RAM)
-Disable Offscreen Offset = OFF
- Track using GPU = OFF
- ALLOW Unsupported GPUs = OFF

In Davinci Resolve 15
+ node cache = ON
+ Playback Render cache mode = Smart

It seems that the use of GPUs with (IN) MOCHA creates issue.

Ok, thx a lot, I'l check again; but I made a bunch of tests and I definitely don't like random results... For ex., render of remove module worked once out of 3 times, while stabilizer worked at once (but since I'm into remove...)

Btw, I'm really focused on Mocha ofx only.
Thanks again.
