Deleting The Cache—Does it Get Rebuilt?

I have allowed my cache to grow to enormous proportions.
If I delete the contents of the cache folder, will the cache for a particular project get rebuilt when I reopen it? Or will all my work be lost?
I know the answer is likely in the manual, but I was hoping for real-world validation.
Thanks

Yes.

I periodically purge the cache files, and as soon as a project is re-opened, Resolve gets busy restoring them.

It even happens to me between 2 definable releases to reformat my HDD Cache (the first in the preferences and the + fast), even if it is necessary to regenerate the caches in certain cases.

It's safe. I prefer to lose a little during lunch (here it is important  ) but have peace of mind.

Thanks. I'm a nervous editor, so it's good to hear this straight from the horse.
