Hi,

I'm work as director on fulldome show , so media have 4kx4k resolution, soon 8kx8k resolution.

There is limitation in free edition for size project ? or is limitation of DaVinci Resolve
In Project Settings manager, i can't edit with this number ( max 3600 for width but less for height )
Same in custom format

Thk for help and info

The free version of Resolve is limited to a timeline and render resolution of UHD.

The Studio version supports up to 16k x 16k timeline and render resolutions.

I wonder which machine would handle 16x16 today…

8kx8k is demanding on the system, particularly GPU and in our tests the NVIDIA GV100 is the best currently viable. GP100 is good too. You will likely need a couple of them in a Supermicro SuperServer 4028 or HP Z8 or Dell 7920. All have dual Xeon CPUs and we have uses dual 22 core with 128GB system memory for some of those tests. Studio version an a lot of disk needed too!

As long as there was enough memory for the final render, you should be able to edit, color, etc with a 4k proxy.
