Bug: Resolve permits overwrite of source clips during delive

In version 14.3 Studio, while rendering in the Deliver module, I somehow managed to name the output file the exact same name as one of the source media files. In this case it was the only source file because it was an EDL export from Premiere. A few seconds into the render, Resolve indicated missing media on the timeline and then crashed.
Resolve should not permit me to name the output file the same as one of the source files! Please fix.
Thx

It's a common operation to render over previously rendered clips as a way to update those clips. In your case, the rendered files should be placed in a specific folder for those renders if you don't want to overwrite those files. The XML files generated will link to the new path location for the clips.
That said, we will see if we can make this better.

I would love to see at least a big pop-up warning message when the render mode checks the names of all files and sees that a file is about to be blown away and replaced.
There is other software out there that just creates a .1, .2, .3 version of filenames when conflicts occur. I would rather have that and then have to deal with removing the extensions that losing the files entirely.
