Installation new Version b7

I installed the new Version. When I started the progran, the message popped up, that Fairlight had an older Version. I tried to install the Version again, and got the error, that a newer Version was installed.
I should deinstall the Program.
After I did so, I tried again to install the program, but the error remained and I cannot install Davinci Resolve.

Hi Wolfgang,

A very good evening to you and all the Resolve team

Had exactly the same issue...my not approved "Hot-fix" that carries the usual WARNINGS...as I am a TV Lighting Designer and not ...repeat Not a computer engineer...is thus

1. Back up RES-15B7 Project databases
2. Create the following RES15-B7 crash log & allied Win10 INFO file
3. Cerate a Windows restore point

Then...

4. Uninstall all Blackmagic Design software, using Win10 Control-panel; Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features
5. Re-Boot

then

6. Delete all folders and sub folders on the c drive C:\***\Blackmagic Design
7. Re-Boot

8. Use regedit command and delete all keys and sub keys entries in the registry ***\Software\Blackmagic Design
9. Re-Boot

10. Check for OS updates ?
11. Install DV Resolve 15B7
12. Re-Boot

Then

13. Upload Crash logs INFO files and system hardware to Dropbox or other such device
14. Post to this forum and include a link to the files up-loaded above

This "Clean Install" seems to have got B7 working well

Log files as below

I hope this is of some assitance in our mutual endevours.. Keep up the good work and with my very best wishes

One of Mike's steps is:

6. Delete all folders and sub folders on the c drive C:\***\Blackmagic Design

Be aware that if you delete the C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design folder, you will lose all your user data and the default Disk database project data.

If you have Fusion installed, it's user data will also be removed.

If you delete the C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design folder, and you have any other BMD apps besides Resolve installed (Desktop Video, Fusion) those will also be removed.

You probably want to be a bit more specific in the wildcard removal process and be sure you only remove the DaVinci Resolve related folders. And again, if you remove the C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design folder, you'll lose all your user data and default Disk database.
