I am very happy that 15 now has native linux audio support. Thank you for that. Thats why i am looking into buying resolve studio for my linux workstation. Here is my question about the licensing/dongles because i am not sure about that.

If i buy a dongle for davinci 14 then it will work ony mac/linux and windows?
I read something about activation codes and dongles. When do i need a dongle and when is an activation code neccessary?

That is important because i got an offer buying a davinci dongle that was bundled with a camera and my mate has 2 licenses. As far as i know i can not generate/get an activation code if i would by the dongle from him.

Thank you for you help.

Dongle and activation code are two different options for licensing Resolve Studio. Dongle will let you run Resolve Studio on whichever machine you have it plugged in to, activation code will let you have up to two machines licensed. I think you can only use one at a time, but I've never tried it.

There is no difference within the software.

Hi. Thank you for your answer.
I guess Dongle is better/easier then. I also read that a Dongle does not require internet-access but the code does.
