Considerable difficulties with the installation of 15b7.

After the first program start there is an error message that the fairlight library does not match the new version. Resolve then crashes. I wanted to install it again. Now I get the hint that a newer version is already installed and I want to uninstall it first. Okay, that's what I did. But this error message remains and I can no longer install Resolve in any version.

After deleting all Resolve registry entries by hand, I was able to reinstall 15B7. But after reference to fairlight (see attachment) Resolve crashes again. Whats wrong here :-)(

Maybe try this for uninstall.

https://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php

Check the Automatically remove residual files option.

It was a tedious matter. I removed everything that had to do with Resolve, then installed 15/06 again and as that worked, I installed 15/07 over it. How good that I made a backup of the database...
Now it seems to work without that error messages.

Hello all,

I had my working version 15.0b3 for WIN10 and I downloaded latest version 15.0b7. I had those both similar warnings, after those removed b7 and now I'll get box "A newer version Resolve is already installed, please uninstall it in Control Panel first."

There is no anymore Davinci Resolve program. Any ideas what to do, I am not able to remove any files away from Program Files -> Blackmagic Design file folder (I can't loose my work there).

Vesku

Thanks, problem solved. I wasn't enough brave to delete all files concerning Black Magic/Davinci Resolve files. Now the latest version b7 seems to be working very smoothly :)

I just went through that several times today. What I did is, after uninstalling, I went into the registry and got rid of the version key (annoying, but I have to do that every time I upgrade to the next version now), and then went to my program files folder and found the Resolve folder, which even after uninstalling still had 1,400+ files in it. I renamed that folder "OLD" (just in case), then went back and installed Resolve again. That cleared the annoying Fairlight error. I'm really disliking Fairlight - I'd rather the development team put their efforts into fixing some of the more basic issues with Resolve - like how it handles images with transparency, applying a blur transition on one video track blurs all the tracks underneath it no matter what, lack of a fill left/right audio toggle, etc.
