Fusion, determine how long text appears

PostSun Jul 29, 2018 7:44 pm

Hi,

I must be having a blind spot. I have a panning shot of a landscape. During portion of time a house of locals I know comes into view. I wanted to point out the house using an arrow with text. I have the shot in the Fusion tab, and applied planar tracking to the house. Now I have made the text as well, all in fusion, and connected the text to the tracking info. But when I play the clip, the text stays in view in the frame, then when the tracked part comes it moves with the house, only to stay still again after. I need to find out how to make the text fade in when the tracking starts, and how to make it fade out right before the tracking stops. I have been looking in the inspector of the text node, but I cannot for the life of me find out how to do it???

Typically you would use a merge tool in these situations. In the case of tracking, the tracker tool becomes the merge tool. (It has a bg source, and a fg source which is combined into the output/saver node.

Look in your tracker tool for a blend tab. You should be able to animate it to blend from 0 to 100.
