Seriously not ready for prime time

Hi there,

first: i love the idea of having an app that suits all part of the post workflow. would be very good to have it, but since there are too much bugs that just spoil any fun of doing anything with it, Resolve is in its current state not ready for prime time. Not even close.

The bugs are:

1.) Optimized media lost after crash
2.) Fusion clips stutter even after caching, only when layering a transparent png on top of it they seem to play
3.) output blanking with MP4 results in a weird shift of all clips to the bottom
4.) more then 5 Audio tracks result in serious, unusable stutter in playback
5.) optimized media not retained after "Save as" project
6.) output blanking results in lightly whiter black bars, thus unusable
7.) random crashes when entering Fusion tab and using the camera tracker
8.) Match move plugin crashes Resolve hard

So BM, could you give any advice on this? Please fix these bugs.

Thank you.

Jens

Machine: Win10, fresh install, nothing on, RX 580, media on SS, Cache on SSD, I7, 16b

Jens, do you have logs for the crashes?
Which beta version?

hi peter,

thanx for getting back to me. while uploading your site seems to reset the upload everytime and throws an error. thats why the logs are at g-drive at the bottom.

again my stats:
win10, i7, b6 and b7, ssd media, ssd cache (diskmark 500 read speed both), 16gb ram, fresh install.

so ok, just tried something odd: i duplicated one clip (drone, simple stuff) about 100 times. so its a long timeline of maybe 10 minutes. no correction, nothing. playback stutters. really????

why?? this is getting ridiculous. why in gods name cant resolve just play the material? and have a timeline thats a little complexer then just 3-4 clips? what is going on? why does nothing work with resolve like its supposed to?

i am thinking about getting my money back because this is just a waste of time to be honest.

please reply asap.

thank you.

Hi again

so I checked again with the project. It seems the stutter in playback can be resolved if I zoom into the timline to lets say 10 clips visible. Then start playback. And then it works.

Puzzling. But working. So, forgive my tone in the last reply. But all the other bugs are still there. Most importantly:

- loosing optimized media when "save as"
- playback stutter for rendered fusion clips
- mp4 weird export with down-shifted clips with output blanking on
- random crashes into and in the fusion tab

thank you for making this an awesome product. when it does work it kicks AE / PRs behind :-)

greetings
jens
