Bug adding keys together

PostTue Jul 31, 2018 4:18 am

There is a bug in Resolve in the way it adds keys together, both when adding several Power Windows within a single node together, and also when using the Key Mixer.

The easiest way to test this is making two or more intersecting Circle Windows with a softness to about 10. Then color correct the shot setting the gain to 0.01. Now if you enable first one, then two, the three Circle Windows, you will see that the softness of each Power Window will shrink for each window you enable.

The same thing will also happen if you use a Key Mixer, adding together the key from several nodes. As you add nodes to the inputs of the key mixer, the same shrinking effect will occur.

I’ve made a DPR that will illustrate this effect. Just toggle the between the different color versions.
