Database is incompatible. latest version of davinci resolve

PostFri Aug 10, 2018 12:40 am

Hi, I worked last week while I was away during a shooting in my laptop, now I'm back at my studio trying to open a database with the projects I did but Davinici brings an error saying: Database is incompatible
incompatible (not upgradeable) database <15.0.0.045>, application requires <15.0.0.034>.

what I did was I connected the drive I used on my laptop and choose restore database. The database appears but showing no projects and says that is incompatible.

Macbook pro OSX sierra. Davinci resolve 15 studio version
Mac Pro OX El capitan. Davinci resolve 15 studio version

My guess is that there must be some problem with the Davinci versions, maybe the macbook pro is newer version of davinci but I just downloaded the latest version from the website trying to installing it on my mac pro and it says 15.0 ? so what's the problem? where can I check the versions? or maybe is that BM is not allowing me to download new versions because my OSX in the workstation is El capitan?

help please.

Thanks

Following up on the incompatible database thread:

I've searched for the solution to this and it always is "install the latest version".

I am teaching at a college that has Resolve 14 installed on their macs. (The kids were very excited to be able to work on their laptops and be able to come in and work on the school macs.) The school imaged many computers over the summer when 14 was out, so they are not changing them until next summer, but the kids originally installed 15 and are now downgrading to 14 and are running into all sorts of compatibility issues with databases and moving projects between school and home.

Is there any fix with this other than reinstalling (since the school computers can't be changed)? If there is not, it seems like I should tell the students to work on the latest version on their laptops since that is the thing they can change ...

thanks!
