Notch EQ possible?

Hello I am wondering if it is possible to notch a frequency range and bring it down -30 to -40 dbs in Davinci Resolve? The default for the eq is -20 and I have a bad buzzing that I need to remove.

Thanks in advance!

Depending on the source and nature of the buzz, grabbing an EQ wouldn’t necessarily be the first call for this type of restorative duty.

The Fairlight EQ, besides the per band attenuation limitation, also offers too wide a quality factor for effective notching.

Using a specialised equaliser that provides much finer control over quality factor and greater attenuation (such as Sonic's Mastering EQ), or a dedicated DeBuzz tool (such as Cedar DeBuzz) would always be more appropriate.

Ultimately, Spectral editing (such as Sonic's Spectral Repair Tool or Cedar's ReTouch) may be a more transparent and flexible choice on sources with variable buzz, although on certain sources with less pronounced but more constant and predictable buzz, you may have some degree of success with the new Fairlight AFX De-Hummer or Noise Reduction plugin in version 15.
