[Request] [UX] [Linux] Add StartupWMClass to .desktop files

PostSun Aug 12, 2018 11:08 pm

A really minor request, but would it be possible (for future releases) to add StartupWMClass to both DaVinci's and Fusion's desktop files? Without that any windows that are created are given their own group in the Linux window manager and can cause a clutter of the desktop and commonly used GNOME extensions (like Dash to Dock).

Code: Select all
# /usr/share/DaVinci Resolve.desktop
StartupWMClass=resolve

# /usr/share/com.blackmagicdesign.Fusion9.desktop
StartupWMClass=Fusion

Really small request, really simple one line fix. And I can confirm that it works just fine.

Cheers,
Mike
