Trim Bug in Studio 15 (RTM)

PostMon Aug 13, 2018 9:14 pm

If I Trim Start with SHIFT+[, the transition I have applied it kept, as is should.

If I Trim End using Shift+], the transition is lost and has to be reapplied. That should not happen.

Extra detail would help. Are you talking about having 3 clips in a row, with transitions between them, and trimming the middle clip with ripple trim on (i.e. while in trim mode)?

Sorry. I am in Trim mode, yes. It's a series of clips all with Audio transitions. (Though it occurs with Video transitions as well.)

My habit is to lay down all the media for a scene in a timeline then go through it and trim (or delete) each clip as needed.

Trimming from the front keeps the transitions, as it should. Trimming from the back incorrectly loses the transition.

I can concur this happens. I have seen it with all beta versions of 15 (I am yet to install the release version)...

I am trying to see if there is a pattern to it, but essentially it is as simple as the OP advised. Placing the timeline-cursor in the middle of a clip, the following occurs: -

In Trim Mode

Shift [ - Trims clip left, ripples following clips to close gap, left transition preserved
Shift ] - Trims clip right, ripples following clips to close gap, right transition deleted

I actually use the following method, as it functions in both Selection and Trim modes, but the result is the same: -

Ctrl-Shift [ - Trims clip left, ripples following clips to close gap, left transition preserved
Ctrl-Shift ] - Trims clip right, ripples following clips to close gap, right transition deleted

Hope that helps clarify.

Cheers ;)
