Importing a Premiere XML Timeline - synch issue

it's my first time working with Resolve so please be kind.
So, I've created a rough cut for my film on Premiere - I have various shots which I have synched to an external recorded audio - which also has the "action! - cut! " bits trimmed.
I have exported all of this to an XML file and consequently I have imported it as a timeline on Resolve.
The result is that the audio is not synched and plus the audio clips have been imported in their entirety - which it means I can still hear the "Action!" bits. The video clips are fine and the cuts are spot on.
Any suggestions from you experts?
