Best Practice / Tutorial For Similar Effect In DR 15 Studio?

PostFri Aug 17, 2018 4:20 pm

Hello,

New DR15 Studio user here. I have experience with PP/AE and Sony products but am certainly not a professional in the video market, rather in UX among other things.

I am attempting to replicate this sort of operation in DR15S as found here:

https://videohive.net/item/ink/16885875?s_rank=1

I suspect that as many things it seems in DR15S there is more than one way to create this effect, however I'd like to ask if there is a tutorial available that in principle can be modified to mimic this? I am not asking for anyone to do this for me, rather asking if there are best practices in DR15S for this operation?

Thank you in advance for any assistance provided.

You can use pre-keyed smoke assets like the free ones found here.https://www.actionvfx.com/collections/free-smoke-plumes-stock-footage

The rest is very similar to AE.

Since the title of the template you linked to is 'Ink', I suspect that the elements are ink instead of smoke.
And it appears that it's just using ink footage to create nice dissolves and masks. It shouldn't be too difficult to replicate, but you'll need some stock footage first.

Hello,

Thank you for the responses. I do not have a problem acquiring stock footage, I'm asking this designer of this ink footage if the ink videos are in a standard format that DR15S can use.

If so it sounds like I should be able to mimic this effect in the Fusion tab of DR15S since I'll have the stock footage and alpha masked logo at my disposal.
