Frame Interpolation options - more details?

Hi,

My PC can get real-time playback with the "Standard Faster", "Standard Better", and "Enhanced Faster" options in Frame Interpolation in Davinci Resolve 15 Studio.

Given that both Standard Better and Enhanced Faster have the same playback performance on my PC, which of the two options should I be choosing for better image quality?

It's best to use your own judgement on things like this. Try the settings, render some clips to compare and choose the settings you like best.

I appreciate that opinion, and will certainly try it when I get some free time. Before I render, I'll probably choose Enhanced - Better anyway.

But I'm still hoping someone with more knowledge can chime in. That's what forums are for, right? :)

I did extensive tests, even against other tools, but I can only repeat what Peter has written:test it with your own footage and judge by yourself.
Optical flow is highly content, or rather motion, dependent and "Enhanced Better" is not really always better than "Standard Better". And no interpolation is yet as good as slo-mo or ramping in a camera…

But there's hope, if you saw the recent demos from Nvidia.
OTOH, they did a clever trick: they increased the slo-mo from already higher fps footage. That works best for any optical flow in my experience too.
