Need help matching requested DCP settings

PostThu Aug 23, 2018 4:52 am

I'm playing a video for my wedding and these are the setting they said I need to match. I'm using an easyDCP player to check the video, but the color still seems a bit off. I haven't done any color correction in Davinci. It's all timelapse images that are jpegs. One frame for each image @ 24fps

Target Color: DC28DCI_XYZE_314_351
Color Space: Unity RGB or XYZ
Gamma: Gamma 2.6

I'm not quite sure what the target color portion means. Currently I'm using
Color Science: DavinciYRGB

I added a node to transform my timeline to
input colorspace: Use Timeline
Output Color Space: XYZ (CIE)
Output Gamma 2.6

on export
Format: DCP
Codec: easyDCP 2K DCI

I'm hoping I've done it right and it'll look ok in the theater :) I tried the output of 2.4 to see if it was just a tad washed out, but the sky is a bit purple instead of blue.

Also, is Unity RGB just sRGB? Because then I'll just use that :)

I think I was able to get this corrected this morning. I used the color correction node to adjust to gamma 2.6 and then did the Color Space change in the color management.

Going to sync up with the theater to test it out hopefully this weekend or next week. Not sure what the "DC28DCI_XYZE_314_351" means besides changing the codec I used.
