Advanced fusion in R15 - issue/ question

So 4k master project - trying to do everything in R15

fusion timeline within single cut - so we have a long helicopter tracking shot of NYC. Text overlay should say - "a film by blah blah"- then fade out then "FILM TITLE" then fade out

Tracking and putting text into the shot is fine and perfect - but adjusting the in and out points with the spline editor on each text layer in the fusion hierarchy doesnt work like I would expect it to. If I move the first text layer in point to frame 70 the entire output including the background disappears from frames 1 to 69 and the same for out points.

i can work around this in two ways. I can create cuts and then create two seperate fusion sequences or I can animate capacity on text layers. But this defeates the point of having time line editor in the fusion spline editor.

We have some 1080p footage in the 4k timeline and the super scaling and fit function work very well but as soon as you route the 1080 clip into any fusion affect it looses the scaling . Should I up res the footage in the fusion pipeline or is it an issue. I would expect it to follow the logical sequence of taking the sizing information from the edit window and then piping it into fusion
