Disable "hover scrubbing"

PostSun Aug 26, 2018 10:56 pm

When you hover over clips in the Media Storage Browser or Media Pool, it scrubs through the footage in the viewer. This is extremely annoying. The expected behavior is that you select a clip first in order to view it. Is there a way to disable this feature?

Otherwise loving version 15!

Yes, click on the source viewer menu, 3 dots in upper right, and uncheck Live Media Preview

Mine live preview is off by default and I selected it, but it will not turn on. Its checked, but doesnt work.

UPDATE:
Its working now. Took a few minutes to get going.

UPDATE:
Nevermind after multitasking to the web browser and back to Resolve it stopped working. Clearly there are still issues with it.

+1
I can not reproduce the issue Michael if 3 dots in upper right, and uncheck Live Media Preview :)

I would love to kill Live Media Preview permanently as a system-wide user choice. Not a fan -- but I totally see why some (particularly editors) would love it.

I dont use it 'all' the time, but when Im doing a lot of audio editing and mixing and needing to reference clips from the media pool, its very very helpful to be able to hover scrub so I can tell what sound it is that Im working with, rather than double-click it to open it up, then grab my mouse and move it to the clip viewer and then drag my scrub bar to the beginning of the clip and then play it and wait until it gets to the part of the clip that has audio -- all to realize, oh, that's not the clip I want at all! Then rinse, repeat and repeat and repeat until I find the clip Im looking for. WIth hover scrub, I can scan through 5 clips to determine if its the one I want or not in literally about 5 seconds. Definitely a must have feature, even if its only activated as needed.
