15.0.086 sudden death

PostTue Aug 28, 2018 11:56 pm

not a show stopper, or really much of a deal atall, but worth mentioning

- select timeline/ export XML
- select target folder
- create new folder
*poof*
- Resolve is gone, no crash reporter window, just gone gone gone
- windoze does not have the folder i clicked on to create
- on restart it's right back to where it was (live save is pretty awesome)

repeatable

w10 / all updates
z820 / 2x 2697v2 / 2x 1080Ti /128g /Decklink pro4k / SAS array

Unless I'm not following your instructions correctly, it works for me. I am able to create a folder by right-clicking and choosing "New->Folder" and save the XML to it.

I right click on a timeline in the media pool and select "Timelines->Export->AAF/XML/EDL..."

thanx Mike,
yea that's the exact steps i'm takeing

my answer is to create the folder in windoze first, rather than Resolve's UI, then all is good
strange that i'm seeeing this and you are not given the same OS / software versions in play

not a show stopper atall tho

I've had problems with standard Windows file dialogs in other software under Windows 10, so my money's on something screwy with Windows 10.

I have two different projects (both of which I've sent to BMD) where if you try to export one or two specific timelines as XMLs, they instantly crash. This is also Resolve 15.0.

However: I discovered over the weekend if you export AAFs instead, those are absolutely fine and cause no crashes. Go figure. One assumes this is a bug being worked on.
