Upgrade Macbook to run Davinci Resolve

PostFri Aug 31, 2018 4:29 am

Hello,

I recently bought an used macbook pro (13", late 2011) for travelling and I am unable to run the latest Davinci Resolve 15 (Cannot find compatible Opencl GPUs).

Would it be possible to run if I upgrade the ram from 4gb to 16gb?
Or would I be able to run an older version of Davinci Resolve?
Should I do both?

Here are some of my computer specs:
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011)
Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB

I appreciate the help!

I doubt that it'll ever run Resolve, but why not give version 12.5 a try? It's a free download after all.

But Resolve is quite demanding, so maybe you try a lighter NLE, like Lightworks (no pun intended).
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
