Choppy/Laggy Exports

PostThu Sep 06, 2018 11:14 pm

Hello,
I've had a good search around the net, including these forums, but have not been able to find anything to solve my issue. I've been attempting to export a project in the Quicktime h.264 codec but my exports are all coming out with some flickering/lagging/choppy effects, almost looking as if the frame rate is off somewhere when it is not. I've also tried MP4 h.264 exports and am getting the same issue and have been trying every available option in the export options window to no avail although "high" encoding profile and higher keyframe rates do have a slightly positive effect which makes sense. I've also checked that all my clips match both the timeline and export frame rates as well to eliminate that as a possible source of the issue. I've seen people having similar issues on Mac systems but no complaints from those on PC's so I'm left wondering if its perhaps a hardware or configuration issue?

I'm currently running:
- Windows 10 pro 64 bit
- Davinci Resolve 14.3.0.014 (The GPU processing mode is set to "auto")
- GeForce GTX 1070 SC gaming SCS black edition
- Intel Core i7-8700K Coffee Lake 6-Core 3.7 GHz, overclocked
- Asus Rog Max X Hero Mobo
- 32gb Ram

If anyone has any ideas or insights I'd love to hear from you and am happy to provide more information if/as needed.

Cheers,
John

Try upgrading to Resolve 15 (unless work prohibits it) and see if that fixes the issue.

Back up your Database (Disk or PgSQL) before installing R15.
