Media Offline - Iphone mp4 4k issues

Hope you could help me.
I've started DaVinci Resolve software just recently. I'm taking my video on the iPhone 8 Plus in default mode (means no manual settings for encoding and other exotic) in 4k resolution, mp4 format, H.265.
When I tried to put these videos to DaVinci for all of them is showed "Media Offline" error, so I can't use it. I've converted some videos to *mov format - it works.
So the questions are:
1) Could I somehow get DaVinci works with mp4 4k video directly from iPhone without converting them?
2) If not for some reasons - what are the best format to convert to and are there any free tools to do it?
