Hello,

I was able to create a shared database, and add a second system to the share. I used the activation key generated from the machine hosting the Project Server to add the share to the second machine, as per the manual. However, I cannot seem to add a third machine to the shared project.

I have disabled firewalls on the machines, they're on the same network, on the same version (15.0.1.003) and all using PostgreSQL 9.5. I left the username and password as default since changing it seemed to not work.

I can still create a new shared database from the host machine, and use the key on the second machine to connect the shared database.

The main error message I receive is " Failed to connect to the database. Please check log file for more details" I'm not sure which specific log file to review.

Any tips on what to look for next?

I unfortunately receive the same error on Mac and PC.

From the systems that won't connect to the database, ping the database server, and make sure that works.

Yes, I'm able to ping successfully the machine that is hosting the server.

On a system or systems that won't connect to the shared database, that you've verified you can ping the shared database on, attempt to connect the shared db again, either manually or with the shared key, then get logs from that machine with the Resolve Help menu "Capture Diagnostics Log on Desktop" and post a link to the log file. Also post a link to the shared key of one of the shared dbs.

Can you scan the port 5432 and post the result here. From Linux machine on the same network:

nmap -p 5432 ip-address-of-the-server

Or from a MacOS machine on the same network open the Network Utility, click on Port Scan tab, enter the IP address of the server. Check the "between" box and enter 5432 - 5432 range.

So I've ditched the database on the PC, and started from a reformatted Mac mini with OS 10.12.6. Now I am having no issues connecting machines to a shared database (Mac or PC).

I also updated Resolve to version 15.1.0025 before creating the new database.

Back to the PC though, I was able to Ping the port range recommended. So it all appeared to be fine. Now that it's working with a Mac, I don't want to look back! I was only using the PC as a testing system before dedicating a machine to the database.
