HELP!!!!!!

I need to finish some work!!!!!

I am on...

Dual Xeon 3.33GHz CPUs - 12 Cores
36 GB RAM
AMD rx580 8GB
Windows 10

Same problem on one system, freezes on the Looking for Control Surfaces screen.

Any help would be appreciated, it works fine on two other systems and a laptop, but one render system it just frozen there even after a reboot.

I am having the exact same problem. Resolve 14 was working perfectly, and then I decided to update. It consistently freezes when it gets to "Looking for Control Surfaces."

Found this issue...

ANy ideas on how to solve this?

As of now I downgraded to 15.01 hopefully they will have an answer once the week starts, or maybe an update.

Did you lose your projects?
Did you uninstall the new version then install the older version?

Did not lose anything, I uninstalled the old one through windows add remove programs, and reinstalled the last version, opened it up and all projects all luts all still in place. I have the newest version running on all my other systems no issue, so not sure what this could be, but I am sure they will figure it out.

If you can’t get Resolve to start you can grab diagnostic logs from the system and post here.

I have the same issue. Freezes on start..."looking for control surface". Attached is the the logfile.

I just downloaded Davinci Resolve from Blackmagic website today. I have been using 14 before.

I am also stuck at the splash screen with it "Looking for Control Surface"

I have attached logs and a screen shot of the splash screen.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program.

Trying to unistall and I am getting this now...

I managed to uninstall via the WINDOWS UPDATE page NOT the LARGE ICON based CONTROL PANEL.

I then tried 15.1 again but it did the same thing.

Went back to 15.01 and all is good.

No idea what happened but I hope they fix it in time for the Pocket4K release...

Checking in to say that I've been having the same issue. Just submitted my own thread on it then saw this one. I would share my log files but this forum isn't letting me paste url's since I don't have enough posts yet.

I have the same problem than colleagues apparently with the new 15.1 version of DVR.

My PC is :

- AMD Ryzen R7 2700 X
- Motherboard Gigabyte Aorus X-470 Ultra Gaming
- 32 Go DRAM 2933 Mhz Dual channel (2x16)
- 1 SSD 256 Kingston + 2 HDD WD 2To Sata 6gb/s
- Gigabyte Radeon Gaming G1 RX 480 8 Go (drivers Adrenaline version 18.9.1)

I launched DVR 15.1 then it stopped at the launch panel (looking control surface).

Uninstalled it, re-installed it but no way. Back to the 15.01 and it works perfectly.

Will try to send my log asap.

Having the same problem on two machines (both OSX). Looking for control surface ......

There is an update just placed on the support web site to download.
