DR15.1 not regognise compatible media

I have Resolve 15.1 installed on both my desktop and laptop running Windows 10, 1803. Yet, ONLY my desktop install recognises most of my media files. Those it does not recognise can be converted with Handbrake and all is fine.
Nevertheless, my laptop refuses to see the EXACT same files I can use on my desktop. Yes, SOME files work on my laptop, but only a handful. Most will not show up in the media tab, so I cannot add them to a project. Nor can I drag them in from an explorer window (bypassing media tab). I have checked all the obvious settings and see nothing different. I have uninstalled and reinstalled (on the laptop) and tried to search for answers on the net. Hassling you people via this forum now my only hope.
The two systems are:
Desktop - i7-8700, 16Gb RAM, nVidia GTX1060 (6Gb) and integrated Intel HD 630
Laptop - i7-8705G, 16Gb RAM, Radeon RX Vega M GL (4Gb) and integrated Intel HD 630
Am I missing something? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

And you are using free Resolve on both systems?

Could you post a link to one fo the files your laptop does not recognise?
Could you also specify if you use DaVinci Resolve Studio?
Thanks

Thanks for your replies. Yes, it is the free version on both (pending some more testing before I fork out for Studio).
Subsequent to my post above, I have had blue screen crashes associated with the atikxxx.sys files on my laptop. These occur randomly; rendering, timeline playback, Fusion editing. Initially, the video drivers were from Win auto-updates and were somewhat old (Jan and Feb 2018). I now have the latest drivers for both the intel 630 and the Vega RX (15 Aug 2018 and 11 Sep 2018, respectively) but still get blue-screen crashes.
I have also experienced the hang at loading panels (that I read about in another thread). I have downloaded the latest (Tue 18 Sep) version of DR15.1 and will try that. If that does not work, I will roll back to 15.0.1 and see what happens.
Bottom line is; there is DEFINITELY an issue with DR15.1 and RX Vega GL M video drivers/hardware.

Latest release of DR15.1.24 crashed! Uninstalled and rolled back to DR15.01 and it crashed!
I have now uninstalled and purged DR completely from my system, which included, all leftover folders and logs and cleaned out the registry. Will keep an eye on this forum for the NEXT version which addresses this incompatibility with the Radeon RX Vega GL M GPU.
As an aside, the strange behaviour with the unrecognised media is not at all a priority (and is probably a side-effect of this problem). Nevertheless, I will revisit it if it's still an issue once I can actually get DR to run!

15.1.25 crashes. Picture of a yellow sad face.
Same blue screen.

Thanks for the suggestion Peter.
At the moment, I no longer have Resolve installed on my laptop. It has been thoroughly cleaned off - meaning all the junk it leaves behind after running the uninstall, such as folders and stuff in the registry. Because it is not urgent for me (as I have a working install on my desktop), I plan to wait until there are a few more updates before attempting to install again on my laptop. I am fairly confident that there will be more posts on here about Resolve crashing (causing blue screens) on machines running Windows 10 and Radeon RX Vega GL M GPUs.
In the mean time, here's a little more information you may be able to use;
NOTHING else on this machine causes blue screen crashes (or hangs).
The blue screen is always related to atikmdag.sys
If, however, I feel compelled to do another reinstall and it crashes, I will dump the diags and post them up on here.

Hi Peter,
I decided to reloaded the latest 15.1.25 version so we can get to the bottom of this. I caused it to crash (which didn't take long) and exported the diagnostics. I have also saved the System.nfo (into the same zip).
How do I send this zip to your support crew, as opposed to posting it on here for the world?

You can use the forum to PM a link to a BMD support person, or go to the web site and use the support links

Yes, I have done all the driver removal and updating. I currently have the latest drivers and Resolve installed. I also have tried a number of permutations of drivers and versions of Resolve. Resolve is the only app that breaks on this freshly built machine.
