V15 Fusion: 3Dtext objects look blurry...

PostWed Sep 19, 2018 4:43 pm

So, I imported an object (signboard) and lined up some 3D text in close proximity to it.

But when I render the clip, the text comes out all BLURRY, and looks very Lo-res. It looks sharper and clearer in the project window! How can I make it look better? The text object is font size 6.85 and the shading size 1.0. I have extrusion 'off' (all set to zero). I have the material type set to "solid".

The project render is 1920x1080, and this is a crop from one frame of it

Unless you post your comp nobody can understand what you are doing wrong.

Did you activate supersampling in the 3D renderer?

Ah - now I see it - had to switch from software rendering to OpenGL! Thanks Muchly!

Wow.. oversampling "helped a bit" - but actually not enough... still pretty awful in V15.

I recreated the identical project in Fusion 9 and it is PERFECT, not a hint of degradation to 3D font objects

( I did intentionally add some blur to this particular example, but it is razor-sharp without the blur added!)

Im guessing the HQ setting is turned off by default for resolve. When you render in Fusion its ON by default.

Yeah, that's what it seemed like to me too. But after going back to Fusion 9 because I couldn't find it in V15 or export the same kind of image sequences; I realized the Fusion 9 workspace is so much bigger and easier to work in.
