This is tested on:
macOS Sierra, mac pro 5.1 with 2 x 1080ti and macpro late 2013
tested on upgraded database
tested on fresh database created with 15.1
Tested on both disk database and Postgres. Same problem.
(also tested with 15.01)

group grades do not save. This is mission critical!!
Right now we have several grade sessions in our 4 suites that we have to put on hold.
It is NOT an option to return to R14, because lots of clip based grades have been done since then.

It is not possible for our colourists to workaround this bug. It is showing itself all over.
We are of course also very afraid there are other save bugs we do not catch!!

If you have a nightly build or a beta, please give us access. This is very critical to our business.
A total of 9 Resolve workstations in use.

I just performed the same test as in your YT video in 15.1 and LiveSave worked properly each of the 3 times I exited out and went back in. I'm on an iMac 5K with latest high sierra. Not sure why it's happening on your system....

That is the problem. Do not know why it is happening.
We can provoke it several times. Then out of the blue it might work for a while.
Problem is it is happening. And the colourist can’t trust his saved work.

You may need to backup your system on time machine, then upgrade to the latest OS High Sierra then test to see if it's still happening.

It's a pain to do, I know. But may be only way to troubleshoot the problem.

I do not have a problem upgrading. But I think it is a bug. Was not a problem in 14.3 at all.
Will test 15.00 as suggested here. Will also test at home with 15.0, 15.01 and 15.1 all on latest high sierra.

Will also test a vanilla 15 project and with the problematic DRPs from work.
But since we can provoke this problem time after time, I fear it is a bug.

I have now tested for many hours.

versions:
15.00
15.01
15.1

Does not matter. The post group NO save bug is there no matter what.
It might not happen each time you save or just switches projects with live save turned on, but it happens all the time.
This is truly bad.

I will now test with completely new prefs. As in nuking the /Library/Application Support/Blacmagic folder.
(Making a backup of course)

But, I am pretty sure this is a bad bug. We have done countless projects in V14, with no save problems at all.

I think I have found a crazy workaround to the bug. At least it looks like it saves correctly after over 30 tests.

Say you have 2 projects in a database and go back and forth between them. It does not matter if it is live save or normal legacy save, it just being in one database, post group grades not being saved will hit you.

However, it looks likes if I live save or not, select another database before I go back and choose the database I do want to work with, before opening the project I want to, then it saves also post group grades the correct way.

I tested this at least 30 times and it works.
If I am just inside the same database, and go back and forth between two (or more) projects in that database, post group grades are not saved.

I have tested with complete scratch install. Clean macOS, clean blackmagic, clean everything. And scenario described above is repeatable.

After testing for a couple of hours, it seems the group grade save issue is gone.
I would however like to test a bit more to be sure, and before I roll 15.1.1 into production.
