H.265 Encoding Speed

I am somewhat shocked at the super-slow encoding speed for H.265 4K HDR files in Resolve on my 10core MacPro. About 45min for a 2 minutes clip seems slightly excessive.
I know this is an extremely intense computing process but considering that with Hybrid (
www.selur.de) it gets done in less than a third of that time it may be something can would benefit from some tuning in one of the
next dot-updates.
Many thanks.

Read countless posts in topic of Resolve h264/5 encoding capabilities. No need to start another one.
Its all covered and I would advice you use anything x265 based (Hybrid, ffmpeg etc.) for correct HDR H265 encoding. Forget about Resolve in this case.

Well, thats just not gut enough. As Blackmagic positions Resolve as a one-stop-solution from Media Management to Delivery, then it should certainly sort this out eventually.
And I am sure they will.

As others have said.. this issue (and others surrounding H264/H265) have been raised numerous times.
In my (humble) opinion, I think the best solution would be for BMD to use the QSV capabilities of the Intel processors because it's very fast and (based on my own tests) totally acceptable in quality (exceeding the inbuilt BMD H264/H265 codecs).
In the meantime, I render to an intermediate format then use handbrake to do my H265 encoding. On my system it's pretty much real-time at 1080p/50. Yes, it is an extra step in the workflow but it's only necessary to do it once, right at the end of the project.
