Unable to link audio and video tracks

I have searched the forum for related topics and don't find a similar issue. I have read the manual and I am familiar with earlier versions of Resolve. Currently using Studio 15.1.0.025

In this version I am unable to link audio and video tracks. The link icon shows they are linked, however, unlike earlier versions sliding either video or audio shows they are not linked, so if I need to trim I must trim the video and then the audio which is very annoying.
Any help will be much appreciated.

On the video track to, look at the icons in the track header or track control that is found to the far left of the track. You might find an icon that is red indicating something is off. Or a greyed out icon that needs to be selected. I had the problem you mentioned on the video track where ripple cut would not ripple for video. The audio would ripple cut. I looked at the both occurrences of Link in the menu as well as the link icon. Then looked at the video and audio headers to see what was different. The video had some red box that I could click on to remove.

Sorry I didn’t know what I was doing but it got the desired result.
