Timeline Keyframe Editor

Dear BMD users,

I'm trying to come to grips with the timeline keyframe editor on the edit page in DaVinci Resolve Studio 15.1.

What I want to do, is animate a still image of high resolution (around 5000x3000px), make it organically pan and zoom. I want to start way zoomed in on person A on the image, and then pan and zoom to reveal person B, and then reveal by panning and zooming some more that they're on a tractor. Because of the high resolution, I have to zoom in by factor 8 or so in the zoom controls of the Transform panel. Then I set a keyframe by clicking the tiny diamond next to the linked zoom x and y. Then with the Transform overlay switched on in the viewer, and the time indicator halfway the 'duration' of the image, I reposition and zoom out, and automatically new keyframes are set. Then I repeat this process for the final 'frame' of the still image until all of it is revealed.

Now I want to tweak things a bit, since the pan and especially the zoom are a bit edgy. I click on the diamond and the wavey line in the timeline, and now I can twirl open the Transform layer with the position and zoom keyframes, and I can see the (I don't know the official name) 'speed graph' as a straight line with a sharp bend. I would like to start to change the speed of the zoom right at (key)frame 1, but find that it's way off the graph, so much so, that I can't see it at all! When I look at the scale of the graph, it only goes from 0 to 4.0, and I'm wondering, why? I do understand that the control points on the graph can be changed into bézier curves, but still find that handling those is still a rather coarse procedure.

These are my very first experiences with keyframing and 'speed graphing' on the edit page.
Am I misinterpreting the 0 to 4.0 scale? Am I just new and 'clumsy' with the bézier curves or are they indeed still a bit coarse method of indicating speed and direction on a still image?
Maybe someone knows of a good DRS 15 edit page bézier tutorial?

Thanks in advance for your tips and help!
