Audio Only Project filling GPU Memory

The audio is for a video, went to final render and the audio was horrible so now I am just worrying about the audio. The video is already chaptered in encore and I am just going to swap the audio tracks.

Anyway, yes my cards are old. I expect them to fill up doing video corrections. I do however not understand how fixing a file that is in it's entirety smaller than the RAM of just one vid card, fills up the RAM of the GPU.

I wonder if it's possible to disable the "GPU Memory Full" alert until the shared GPU memory is also full. At least for audio only projects.

My work around has been closing and then reopening and then continue. If history proves a good predictor, then exporting of the corrected WAV will fail. So while my workaround gets me to completing the tweaks, it doesn't necessarily get me complete. Maybe when the program detects no video content in the video track, the program can use system memory instead of GPU memory?

I am probably going to have to break down and just order a new GPU. But would sure appreciate a hint if I am missing something.

Unless your video is stored as raw uncompressed data then the true size is *far* greater than the file-size once it is decompressed and it's the decompressed data that goes into the GPU so don't be surprised if the file on the disk is smaller than your GPU ram and you still have problems.
