How to open a database

PostTue Oct 02, 2018 2:10 pm

Sorry if I should know this already.

I reformatted my hard drive. I had Davinci Resolve 15 installed using a disk database, not PostgreSQL. When I reinstalled, I did not know how to open the database on my hard disk (I keep my data on a separate drive from my applications). I wound up importing from a backup and when I saved the database with the same name, it overwrote the database file on the hard disk so I lost one current project.

Can anyone help me with how I can open a database that already exists on a hard drive?

I appreciate your help.

Thanks,

I found the answer. When I was trying to connect to an existing database, I was using the full file name of the database. If I use the first part of the file name, before any spaces or ".", I can connect with the existing database. This is actually the name of the database which I did not know is not the same as the file name of the database.
