Using MXF with DaVinci Resolve

I am new to DaVinci Resolve so this may be common. I have a Canon XF 100 that uses MXF files. When I edit or render the video I get these lines in the video that look like some kind of Digital Anomaly. I am wondering if there is a preporation (setup) needed to be able to properly use MXF? Or will I have to convert the files?

After a bit more research I found this same problem to be fixed with Adobe Premier. I followed those steps in this program. I right clicked on the clip, selected "clip attributes" and clicked "Enable Deinterlacing".. from what I can tell it seems to have fixed the problem to some degree although this feature is not available in the free version. :/ (watermark) I am also noticing the lines a bit when using VLC to play the MXF file Raw so I am wondering if this might be an export issue as well. However, the deinterlacing seemed to smooth the issue out regardless.

Let me know if anyone else has issues like this.

Thanks

Interlacing is not an anomaly. Generally if you shoot interlaced video the expectation is that you will master and deliver interlaced as well.

Deinterlacing is the last resort, not a standard practice. When deinterlacing you're throwing out 50% spatial resolution.

Thank you for the reply :D

I'll Try shooting 25p. I am just trying to get the maximum clarity from my camera for my tutorials. Sometimes I play fast and want to avoid blurring as much as possible. That's why I was shooting 50fps.

I suppose I am not quite sure what interlaced video is? I wasn't aware I was shooting in that format? I was actually new to MXF (Material eXchange Format) because I never had a camera that shot anything other than iPhone, Nikon DSLR, or a Zoom formats (MOV, MP4, AVI etc...)

Is there a way to fix the video I already shot other than changing my FPS and re-shooting the video?

Thanks
