problem with case sensitive volumes?

PostThu Oct 04, 2018 4:18 pm

i searched the web but didnt see anyone with the same problem. so i´ll ask here.

i am running 10.12.6 with gtx 780 without webdrivers and the latest cuda drivers (also tried with the specific cuda drivers for 10.12.6, same problem.)

installation of davinci 14 or 15 works but app doesnt start. tried multiple times. with and without decklink mini monitor hd installed. first time i got the message that my OS is not compatible. since then just "quit unexpectedly".

i realized that the volume i´m trying to install to is "case sensitive". is that a problem? can´t install adobe cc for that reason.

i have been running resolve 11 on 10.10.1 and decklink mini monitor hd on the same machine without problems for years.

what am i missing?

thanks, hannes

to answer my own question, resolve 14 and 15 (not tried any other versions) do install to but NOT launch from volumes that are formatted "case sensitive". unfortunately the resolve installer doesn´t warn you unlike the adobe products which can´t be installed in the first place.
after reformatting my system drive and reinstalling osx 10.12.6 and the recommended cuda driver from the installer readme everything runs smoothly. makes me very happy!

since my formatting "case sensitive" was an accident and not intended i guess few people will run into this problem. but if anyone does, her it is now!

by the way, my system is a hackintosh.
gigabyte ga X79 UP4
i7 3820
32 GB Kingston 1333Mhz Ram
gtx780
decklink mini monitor HD
inateck KT4006 USB3 PCI card
Kingston 240GB SSD
24TB internal harddrive space (2x8TB, 2x 4TB)
