error "ADR Font is not available"

PostThu Oct 04, 2018 7:15 pm

Hi guys, I keep getting this message on my mac.

ADR Font is not available
Font (family: 'Abyssinica SIL', face: 'Regular') is not available. Do you want to change it to default font?

I have mac and linux, and I also get the message that the font Arial is not available on the Linux machine. I assume that this is a linux and mac font issue going back and forth between projects. I have also noticed that the audio isn't working correctly for me when I first bring in audio and it takes it a little while of twiddling for the audio to start working. It may be related?

I have the same on 17.4,

Font (family: 'Arial', face: 'Normal') is not available.

But it's strange since my Windows machine has that font.

And when I click on YES, just the window closes, to reopen itself next time.

Exactly same issue here. v 17.4 (just installed) Win 10x64, as soon as I switch to Fairlight page. I confirmed I have Arial Regular (which doesn't show up in the list in the dropdown - see image). There is typically no "Normal" font face. Not sure if Resolves "normal" really means "regular", but either way, this is an issue for some reason.

yup same issue here, ADR font is not available in Fairlight page.
And the rest of you guys, it asks for Arial normal, wich i have.

BM i think this is a bug in 17.4. Probably a dev that went real late
to meet a deadline and made a code mistake ;)

I'm getting it as well, pretty much every time I hit the Fairlight page.. it pops up. I'm sure this will be fixed in an update. :)

I am hoping this is sandboxing a font substitution warning routine?

I just picked up an Aero 17 HDR XD Creator Laptop that I am setting it up for the first time (Windows 10 Pro 64-bit) and have installed Resolve v17.4.1 and I am hitting this very problem on the Fairlight page as well!

I never got this error message on the Fairlight page when using Resolve on my regular editing system, a HP Z800 with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, even after I updated to Resolve v17.4.1, though I've been using that system for Resolve since v15.

Any word on how to fix this?

I think the fix will be in V17.4.2
It doesn't seem to deliver anything adverse.
I have been answering "no". It goes away. It is intriguing.
