now the third show with similar issues in the last month.. here's the short story of today's hassle;
show has been on mutiple machines
this afternoon it was on a z820/2x2697v2/2x 1080ti/128g/SAS array/4kdecklinkPro
all machines are w10 creators, latest updates
v15.0.003
sources are Sony MFX/UHD
timeline is HD, output set to match timeline
edit page = 23.98 disk @ 4%, CPU @ 8%, GPU @ 12% average
color / fairlight / Deliver pages = 14-18Fps with same machine resources used
this is v7.2 of the show, i restored v6 from DRP and it plays back correctly in all pages, i colortraced to v7.2's grades and with the same grades the restored v6.0 colortraced also runs @ 23.98 with similar machine resources used.
inbetween v6 and v7 i moved the project to my home machine, did a first pass this morning, and then back to the workstation in my studio for tweaks
v6 played correctly on my home machine (z620, 2x2660v2/96g/1x1080/Decklink mini), i saved v7 there, and that also plays correctly in all pages
the project seems to have lost it's ablity to playback when i opened the v7.0 DRP this afternoon, or perhaps when i changed source folder in the media pool
there's no caches involved, but i did try fusion cache some shots in v7.2 to DNxHR444, it cached around 30 sec of the timeline in around 7 seconds, disk @ 99% being the limiting factor, so somewhere around 150Fps cacheing
and it still would not playback the fusion cached shots at more than 18Fps, same low machine resources showing
i tried node cacheing the last node on the same 30 sec of the timeline, and it cached those indivdual shots faster than i could start my stopwatch
and it still would not playback the node cached shots at more than 18Fps, same low machine resources showing
the good thing is that the older version plays back correctly, and i was able to color trace cleanly, nothing but a bit of time expermenting lost
this is the third show with similar issues, all after moveing DRP's between machines, and changeing source folder in the media pool
