Hi everyone, I have a very simple yet complicated question to ask: How important is RAM this day and age? I've heard people say that you really don't need more than 16GB of RAM for most things. How important is it for Resolve? Basically I'm upgrading one of my systems and since a lot of Apple's computers MUST be upgraded during purchase for a crazy amount ($600 for 32GB of RAM) I'm wondering if only upgrading to 16 would be enough. I do grade RAW files (red, BMD,) and 4K often. So what's the consensus? Also, FYI, I'm planning on getting the new eGPU BMD has to go with it.

Subject to any limits you place on it in the Resolve Preferences, Resolve will use anything you have, beyond what the software requires, for storing cache. 32GB is a realistic minimum and bigger is better if you can afford it.
Thanks so much guys! Guess I’ll just bite the bullet and get 32GB.
