Animate around ellipsis or Shape3d?

this might be the total noob question, but im for hours trying to animate around a Torus and/or an ellipsis.
The important thing is the circulation of an image around the fov, that has to be an exact figure.
Anyhow i cant come to a solution. i was watching the tutorials on youtube. the map-plane animation does not help me far enough.
Please help me!
