Can't open my video after rendering

I just spend my morning editing a video. I let the video render while I was doing something else and now I can see the mov file in the file explorer, but I can't open it with any app. Does anyone know what might have gone wrong?
Also I am a noob with computers and all so I'm very sorry for that.
