XML-Roundtrip: Adobe Pr - DVR - APr

PostMon Oct 15, 2018 10:11 pm

Hi there everybody,

We figured a huge bummer in v15.1.1 (and before in the v15 releases) on round-tripping in-between Adobe Premiere - DaVinci Resolve (DVR) - Adobe Premiere (APr).

First of all: it's an XML-Roundtrip since AAF doesn't reliably work (or: didn't work DVR v14) .

We render out any sequence we got via XML from APr with DVR's preset for APr and we "accidentally" (<- means: all settings on the Deliver-Page in DVR needs to get re-checked for consistency, why, btw.?) end up with Audio tracks "same as source" and end up with at least like 64 channels of audio in each of the DVR rendered clips.

(Well, APr is taking it's time to get those back in the roundtrip scheme, whilst typing this message we render out a second set with a forced 2-Channel setup... oh, APr is done and DVR has 2 minutes to go...)

So: why are the export settings are changing by themselves when in a first step APr is the designated destination on DVR's Deliver page and then all other components are set (like: interlaced check-mark often fails, as well as ProRes(HQ) get's downgraded to just ProRes422)?

Why do we end up – with even the unintentionally checked "same as source" check-box on the audio tab with like 64(or even more?) channels of audio even when the source footage and the source sequence (via XML from APr) only has/had 8 channels?

Please double-check.
