Hi,

Resolve 15.1.1, Sierra 10.12.6, MacPro Late 2013 64G RAM, Dual display setup (full timeline in main display)

I switch quite often between Edit and Color pages during the editing process. However, there are some annoying behaviors of Resolve which slow down my operations and I find it quite confusing for everytime I switch from Edit to Color.

1. After a clip is selected in the Edit page and switch to Color page, Color always selects the topmost clip instead of the previously selected clip in Edit. It's very confusing and quite easy to edit the color of other clips instead of the previously selected one in Edit. It's even more confusing with a long timeline, short clips, a lot of layers with a lot of disabled clips (both disabled tracks and individual disabled clips) in the Edit and then switch to Color

2. After switched from Edit to Color, the selected clip is always located in the leftmost of the timeline, the playhead always parks to the leftmost instead of placing everything in the middle with similar or identical scaling as in the Edit.

3. In Color page, the disabled clips are not shown in disabled color as in the Edit.

4. In Color page, the disabled tracks are now shown in disabled color.

The above behaviors cause very annoying operations, especially with a long timeline.

Please refer to the attached screenshots.

Regards,

Michael

I think the best solution here might be a shift in work flow.

Do all the editing first, do your coloring second. This will limit the switching back and forth.

I do think that you should have the ability to disable/reenable the clips in color page. Often i have multiple versions of the same shot stacked (vfx) and I would like to disable/reenable them to showcase them to the client.

You can disable tracks for quick comparison purposes.

Not the same, you might have to play the sequence with shots before and after (because the client want it) and you will disable other objects that are in the same track.
