It has occurred to me how convenient it would be for Resolve to detect whether a USB dongle is present, and launch Lite or Studio accordingly (ideally condensing the whole process down to a single app). At present, we can only have one of the two versions installed on a given system, and owners of Resolve Studio are put through the extra hassle of finding and plugging in their dongle even if all they need are the features of Resolve Lite. This is a particular annoyance on laptops, where leaving a dongle perpetually plugged in isn't feasible—and the problem exacerbates when the same dongle is shared between a travel laptop and a home workstation.
Is there any reason why the two flavors of DaVinci Resolve need to be wholly separate applications? Or, at the very least, what about allowing for users to install both Resolve Lite and Resolve Studio on the same machine?
