Hi all!
This thing is really buggin me hard - infuriating, now that I have used whole night trying to solve so minuscule problem that it makes my veins wanna pop. This is a subject that forces me to use other editing software for such simple tasks, but still essential for my business and work. If I may I would like to make a suggestion to the developer team:
Please. Before adding millions of bells and whistles and fancy 3D and explosions, you need to make this _editing software_ to function properly in _every day basic editing_ tasks. It is a must. I'm not going to use it in _anything_ if it just does not work with basic needs, every day bread and butter.
I think I can pretty securely say, that people add graphics to their videos, as do I. And not always do we want just hard cut or fade. Maybe slide in or a 3rd party transition. No can do. This is a problem, that I have found buggin other people also, for a long time. So it's not that I'm not patient. The problem has been here, well at least from Resolve 14, and people have been asking about it.
And I know, people want to give me a workaround. Well, you might offer a couple ways around this problem. Both are already a pain, if you have 100 text to worry about. So, transform controls and keyframes. My opinion: they are not in a usable state, impossible to use. Easy in/out, just not possible. Horrible user interface to view keyframes... a nightmare. You can't scale the... well, scale. So even if I had handels to control easing, not possible to set them. And: no motion blur. Final result: not pretty.
Witch brings us to the other way: Fusion tab. I won't start with impossible amount of bugs, problems with interface (on 4k monitor, impossible to use, scaling not working) and so on, but just this: again, if I have 150 texts, and I just need 1 consistent transition for all of them, taking them all to Fusion one by one, creates 150 fusion clips (=a bloody mess), takes forever to do, and even thinking of this makes me want to puke. Totally unnecessary and overkill. No client is willing to pay for this amount of work for such a task.
Sorry for the rant, but I have a work to finnish for a client, the clock is ticking, I should already be sleeping, and there just isn't any way to solve this problem. And really: it is a basic thing!
Long story short: there has to be a way to work with text and graphics easily in edit tab. If a clip is not attached to another clip, transition should affect ONLY that clip. That way I could use transitions to solve my problem.
Sorry for this, I think I now need to open Premiere to finnish this. Rediculous. Really.
