Create a live shoot edit in Resolve

PostWed Nov 14, 2018 12:28 pm

Hi all,

Just wondering out loud here but, is it possible...?

I'd like to run a multicam shoot using say, four BMD Micros Studio Cameras, into a switch that I can use to do a live edit of a band that will also be shown on a large video screen and recorded for a DVD release. At the same time, I'd like to record the edit I do on the day, so that when I get back to the office, I can load the whole show up in Resolve and have that same edit appear, so that I can then tweak it, colour grade it and render it out into multiple formats, within Resolve.

Does that make sense?

Essentially, it's an OB that records the individual cameras, records the live edit and also records the edits points I do on the switch to a Resolve project. Or I guess at the very least, it's the switch creating a Resolve compatible EDL on the fly.
Kind regards, Andrew

Wow, just reading old posts. Seems nobody responded to this one. But BMD did! :-)
Kind regards, Andrew

Yep, the ATEM Mini Pro ISO does exactly this.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
